A Jazz Life, Honestly Lived
Tim McCormick picked up his first pair of mallets in 1979, and the vibraphone has been his voice ever since. Drawn to the instrument's unique blend of percussion and melody — its ability to sustain a note, to let it breathe and decay like a human voice — Tim spent years learning its full vocabulary before ever stepping onto a professional stage.
A graduate of the University of North Texas College of Music, one of the most acclaimed jazz programs in the world, Tim was surrounded by working professionals and future stars of the genre — honing the discipline and musical intelligence that would define his career.
Since then, Tim has performed at some of the most distinguished venues in North Texas — from the grandeur of The Gaylord Texan and the exclusivity of The Petroleum Club to the outdoor elegance of the Dallas Arboretum and the storied gates of Six Flags Over Texas. He currently holds a regular featured solo role with the Robson Ranch Big Swinging Band, a premier big band ensemble in the DFW area.
What sets Tim apart is versatility. He doesn't just play — he sings. Warm, seasoned, and rooted in the classic American songbook, his vocals complement his vibraphone work in a way that's rare in the jazz world. No backing tracks. No shortcuts. Just live music, played with intention.
Available for weddings, corporate engagements, restaurants, and private events throughout the DFW Metroplex. For select occasions, Tim is available for travel.
